Proviant — Support
Last updated 18 September 2026
Proviant is made by one person. Email is the whole support department, and it is read by the person who wrote the app: plackstrom@outlook.com.
Getting in touch
The quickest route is Send feedback in the app, under Settings. It opens your mail app with the address already filled in, and adds the language the app is running in — which is the single most useful thing to know when something reads oddly.
If you would rather write directly, the address is plackstrom@outlook.com. It helps to say what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
Common questions
Where is my data kept?
On your device. Proviant has no accounts and no server of ours — your food, your household and your photos never leave your phone unless you deliberately export or sync them. The privacy policy sets out exactly what the app does and does not send anywhere.
How do I get my pantry onto another phone?
Two ways, and one of them is free. Settings → Data & sync → Backup → Export snapshot writes an encrypted copy you can move across however you like, and restore on the other phone. Keeping two phones continuously up to date is part of Proviant Plus: the phones pair once by QR code, and after that each can send the other an encrypted copy of what has changed.
I bought Proviant Plus and it is not showing
Open Proviant Plus in Settings and tap Restore purchase. That is the thing to do after reinstalling the app or moving to a new phone — the purchase belongs to your Apple Account rather than to the app, so it can always be brought back.
Which languages does it speak?
Nine: English, Swedish, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Polish and Portuguese. English and Swedish are the two the developer reads; the other seven are translations that no native speaker has reviewed yet, which the app says for itself the first time it opens in one of them. If something reads wrongly in your language, telling us is genuinely useful — use Send feedback, which names the language for you.
A product scanned with the wrong name or nutrition
Product data comes from Open Food Facts, a community database anyone can correct. Fixing it there fixes it for everybody, including you on your next scan. You can also simply edit the product inside Proviant — your own copy always wins.
How do I delete everything?
Deleting the app removes its data with it: there is no copy of it anywhere else to clean up, and nothing to close an account on.
